Cool! I like the picture of books at the top 🙂

Also, I thought of a metaphor for Incremental Reading. Incremental Reading is a car that runs on chunks of knowledge instead of gasoline; all you have to do is turn the key and drive. Because we live in a time where information is abundant, free and accessible, (Assuming one selects useful knowledge) we can be as happy as if gas were free.

How about: “Incremental Reading is a car that runs on chunks of knowledge instead of gasoline; all you have to do is turn the key and enjoy the ride”.

There is always the problem of selecting useful knowledge, and this is something we are going to deal more and more every day, today at least we have IR. IR has been a great help for me, it lets me overload my collection with “wanna read later” so assured that you’ll get over it later you have no stress of leaving something behind.

The other advantage is selecting useful enogh knowledge. Some readings are so further postpone (voluntarily or not) that when you get to them you finally notice this was not so important and you cad dismiss or delete it. You get twice benefit. My previous behaviour was Rapid Reading it to search for “some” valuable information, now I can leave all this to my personal knowledge safe.

Twittery style is great, but where are those books at the top?

The theme changed again, the books are gone; I like this new one, also.

As long as you hold up your end of the deal (Read, extract information, make flashcards; then add more information when you’re tank is empty), I don’t see how IR requires too much maintenance at all, to be honest…
